Thanks for capturing Pivot, Blackbird
Vancouver, March 4, 2010 - For several years Pivot Legal Society has been extremely lucky to have caught the attention of a dedicated local man who has taken amazing photographs of many of Pivot's activities.
The Blackbird, as he is known professionally and on Flickr, has been able to capture the essence of what is really going on in his often moving photographs.
The Red Tents campaign was the most recent of many events covered by Blackbird. Red Tents, the campaign for a national housing initiative was launched in late January and the photos here show two of the protests, the Olympic Wrap-up on February 27 and the Banner Drop on February 22.
Pivot is not the only organization that The Blackbird has been following, and by looking at all his photographs on Flickr it is possible to see a more complete picture of how other organizations work in partnership with Pivot to advocate and push for social change.
The Blackbird recently announced that he will be taking a well-earned break from his photography of the Downtown Eastside and we wish him a restful break. Please take a look at all his wonderful photos.
